Rio de Janeiro’s iconic peak is essentially a glorious 396-metre summit that provides unforgettable views filled with forests, mountains, and wonderfully pristine beaches. You can reach the top by catching a cable car, although the 30-minute hike is a tempting opportunity for many. Either way, this picturesque location is well worth adding to your itinerary. 

Tijuca National Park is the biggest urban rainforest on Earth

If you need a break from the bustling nature of Rio de Janeiro and fancy taking in an area that’s filled with natural beauty, then Tijuca National Park, the biggest urban rainforest on Earth, is a must. Just 45 minutes from the aforementioned Copacabana Beach, this lush expanse is packed full of wildlife; it contains hiking trails for any adventurers among us, there are scenic spots that are perfect for sharing on Instagram, and there are around 30 waterfalls and mountains to witness in the flesh.
